The living room is a space designed to relax in. We’ve come up with a little list of Life Hacks for you to follow to help make this a better space for you.
If you own pets, you know the struggles of having to clean pet hair from every surface around the house. Trying to vacuum the hairs off of things does not always work and can leave hard deep within carpets of on the sofa. Using a squeegee to remove the pet hair is very effective. The rubber grabs the hair and pulls it out leaving you with a big pile of hair you can easily vacuum up.
Rearranging the living room after a while can leave your carpet with indentations which don’t seem to go away. Ice cubes can remove this with relative ease. Place the cube into the dented area and leave it till it melts. After a pat down with a cloth the fug or carpet should look good as new.
Use an old drawer to create more space in your living room in the form of a shelf. Using a drawer means you can decorate it how you like and have much more space to store items within it. As a side result, this is also relatively cheap as it is making use of something you would be throwing away/ giving away.
Handles hitting the wall are a common thing with poorly designed doorways. We recommend using a tennis ball to stop the damage. You can spray paint the ball to whichever colour you think would match your living room. Simply cut a slit into the ball and slip over the circular door knob. The tennis ball should absorb most of the impact of the door.
These Life Hacks are designed to help you in your living room. We hope you can make good use of them. Keep an eye out on our blog page and social media pages for more tips and tricks in the future.
Just to let you know we are open for business as usual and you can continue to have your cleaner clean your house.
The government has made it clear that cleaners are still permitted to work inside peoples' homes as long as Government Guidelines on social distancing and staying safe are followed (see below). In summary:
You can be outside of your home for work purposes where your place of work remains open and where you cannot work from home, including if your job involves working in other people's homes.
The full text can be found here New National Restrictions from 5 January (in England; there are similar texts available for Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland). Specifically relating to cleaners, the guidance continues: 'This guidance applies to those working in, visiting or delivering to home environments. These include, but are not limited to, people working in the following areas:
Note this guidance is for people who are fit and well, and is dependent on the following social distancing guidelines being followed:
The good news with regard to cleaning is that the cleaners can social distance from their clients very easily, and we would advise that, if you are at home when they are there, that you remain in a separate room to your cleaner.
If you are happy to adhere to the government guidelines - and if your cleaner has not been in touch already - then please just call the office and we will ensure that your cleaning continues.
